Do you want a free and easy way to find technology ideas for your business?
Fundamental changes are coming which will impact the majority of businesses. The advancement of technology generally evokes a range of emotions in people from all walks of life. From political uncertainty, Brexit and technology advances, we are in a period of unprecedented change. It is clear that the future will not resemble today’s business environment. Change is inevitable but not always bad, it can provide great opportunity.
“First we thought the PC was a calculator. Then we found out how to turn numbers into letters with ASCII — and we thought it was a typewriter. Then we discovered graphics, and we thought it was a television. With the World Wide Web, we’ve realized it’s a brochure”- Douglas Adams
Technology is developing faster than at any time in history. The challenge most businesses face is understanding technology and what solutions are available for their business. The biggest constraint is time. Whilst large global brands can afford dedicated teams to track the development of technology, most companies can’t afford this luxury.
Research by Samsung Electronics suggests that the limited time spent on technology issues by businesses could be a major contributor to the UK’s productivity gap. IntroStream is a platform designed to help businesses save time in identifying technology solutions.
“I found the IntroStream Challenge incredibly simple to use and required very little time for potentially a great gain. It couldn't have been simpler”- Together Money
The latest data from the Office of National Statistics showed that UK productivity fell for in the second quarter of this year by 0.1%. Productivity is a key focus of the government with billions of pounds being invested through Innovate UK to help companies increase productivity. Technology can significantly improve productivity in almost every area of a business. Cost and fear of failure can deter companies from looking for new ideas. However, with the pace technology advances today, if your competitors embrace change and you don’t, there is a real risk of failure.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill
The IntroStream Challenge is an easy and free way for any company to find technology solutions. We recently completed a Challenge for Together Money, a Manchester based large financial services business.
Sonia Awan at Together Money led the IntroStream challenge said, “I was impressed by the ideas generated. The result yielded 15 suggested Fintechs, of which 12 I would have a further conversation with. In fact, I've already scheduled 3 meetings in. Despite my research, I haven't come across some of these providers so it really allowed us to scan the market quickly and allow the FinTechs/solution providers to come to us for a specific need we have.”
“We chose this challenge as it's a prevalent opportunity for us now. As our B2C proposition grows, we want to be ahead of the curve in understanding our customers and ensuring great customer experience. We chose IntroStream to help us with this as it's incredibly easy to use and only requires you to 1) provide a summary background on the company 2) present your challenge (a few lines) and hit submit. In a few weeks, you're presented with FinTechs that have essentially 'pitched' their solutions for your challenge. It's a win-win introduction”
IntroStream is not just for large businesses, it can be used by businesses of all sizes to find technology and innovation. Recent Challenges include the Sweet Mandarin restaurant who are seeking ways to improve dinner experience and engagement. This challenge received some interesting ideas from customised apps through to augmented reality. With the release of the new iPhone 10, many are predicting augmented reality is the next big technology trend we will see in our everyday lives.
Another Challenge was created by William Hall & Co, a firm of chartered surveyors who were looking for technology solutions which could compliment their existing systems. Anthony Hall, Principle of William Hall & Co said “We are a traditional business but recognise to provide superior customer service we need to constantly look at new ways to add value to our service. The IntroStream Challenge is a great way to help find new ideas we were not currently aware of”.
If you are a business looking for fresh technology ideas, IntroStream is a free and easy way to compliment what you currently do. It is free to use, requires minimal time investment and can deliver technology ideas that could improve any area of your business.
